The Bearden volleyball team started its run in the state tournament in Murfreesboro on Wednesday with a 3-1 win over Franklin.
The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead, winning the first two sets 25-23 and 25-18. Franklin won the third set 25-14, but Bearden rebounded in the fourth 25-17 to clinch their first match of the day and stay in the top half of the bracket.
However, the Lady Bulldogs later lost to Siegel 3-1 and now find themselves in an elimination game against Houston. The match will be at Murfreesboro’s Blackman High at 11:30 local time.
If Bearden wins, it will play the winner of Franklin and Farragut at 2:30 local time in another elimination game.
