Bearden beat Dobyns-Bennett 6-0 on Tuesday in a regional semifinal game to advance to the region final at Science Hill on Thursday at 7 p.m.
If Bearden wins, it will host a sectional on Saturday against the loser of Farragut and Powell. If Science Hill wins, the Lady Bulldogs will have to travel to the winner of the other region final.
Although this game is not an elimination game, players will be treating it as if it is one because a win would mean home field advantage in future games.
“A win over Science Hill is what we are focusing on right now because that is what will get us home field advantage on Saturday,” senior Ashtyn Glover said. “We are taking our post-season games one at a time and putting all of our energy in the one in front of us.”
Sectional winners move on to the eight-team state tournament in Murfreesboro.
Bearden’s goals Tuesday were scored by Ashtyn Glover, Emily Carlevato, Alex Smith, Grace Roddy, Hannah Wilson, and Marissa Noon.
Goalkeepers Abby Mink and Maggie Jones combined to record Bearden’s 13th clean sheet of the season.
