Bearden’s boys’ basketball team joined the girls team Tuesday night as District 4-AAA champions.
The girls took home a district championship on Monday, defeating Maryville 51-25.
The win was backed by senior Grace Van Rij’s 15 points and sophomore Jahkyia Davis’ 12 points. Strong defense also helped the Bulldogs, allowing only four points in the second half of the game.
Bearden (24-7) will take on Powell (13-13) Friday night at home in the regional quarterfinals.
The boys followed the girls on Tuesday, beating Maryville to win a district championship, and finished out district play undefeated.
Juniors Ques Glover and Drew Pember lead scoring for the Bulldogs, with 16 each, and junior Roman Robinson followed them with 15.
Bearden (33-1) will now host Karns (21-7) on Saturday night for the regional quarterfinals.
