Summer is approaching and with that comes the cross country preseason. Students interested in running cross country should see below for important dates and information for the preseason.
Students looking to run cross country for Bearden next season should be running over the summer to develop a base prior to team practices.
June 24 through July 8 is the TSSAA dead period, and coaches will not have contact with student athletes.
July 10 is the start of optional preseason practice. Though these practices are optional, coaches highly encourage student athletes to attend.
July 23 is the start of official practices. Practice will be every weekday in the morning until school begins.
July 24-26 is the optional team retreat.
- Optional Practices: July 10, 12, 17, and 19 at 8 a.m.
- Official practices: July 23, 27, 31, Aug. 1, Aug. 2, Aug. 3, and Aug. 4 at 8 a.m.
All practices until school begins will be held at Sequoyah Park unless otherwise indicated.
All required forms (concussion, cardiac and physical) must be completed and turned into coaches prior to participating. You can turn them in to coaches at the start of the first practice, but they must be completely filled out or you will not be able to participate.
Please plan accordingly and get your physical completed in time. Only physicals completed after April 18, 2018 will be accepted.
