After a 2-1 win over Cookeville on Tuesday night, Bearden will now face Station Camp on Wednesday with hopes to advance to its second state championship game in three years.
Bearden’s win came courtesy of a goal each from junior Collin Lewis and senior Ty Trikones.
Station Camp, who beat Houston 2-1 on Tuesday, is currently ranked number one in the state and number seven nationally, but Lewis believes that the Bulldogs can get a win if they stick to their game.
“Obviously they are a great team and a top program in the state,” Lewis said. “We know a lot of the main weapons they have, so we just have to work to limit their touches and stay in control.”
Bearden and Station Camp kickoff at 5 p.m. Eastern at the Richard Seigel Soccer Complex.
Despite the win, the team still sees areas for improvement going into the next matchup.
“Going forward, we just need to be confident and put the ball in the back of the net,” Lewis said. “If we work with each other and play off each other, we will be successful.”
